About Pretty Pitties and Friends.

This blog is mainly about the misconceptions and stereotypes of pit bulls as compared to their actual behaviors. I have experience in this topic because my dog, Mia, is a rescue pit bull mix and I have heard some of the ideas that people tend to have regarding the breed. Mia's Instagram is a good place to see a day in the life of a pit bull, which includes a lot of snoozing.
I have noticed that Mia tends to get more sideways glances from strangers than my other dogs do, this could be due to the misconceptions and stereotypes that have been given to her breed. It is important to me because I want people to see what fantastic, goofy, weirdos pit bulls are and to help them be adopted from shelter instead of being euthanized. The most common dog in shelters in America is the pit bull, and they are also the most frequently euthanized. In order to combat the misconceptions about the breed feel free to comment pictures or stories about the wonderful nanny dogs.

  1. What a great way to break the negative connotations of this wonderful dogs. I have a beautiful pit bull, vicious enough to lick you to death! In my experience, they have a bad reputation from not having the right dog owners. I can't wait to see the positivity you will bring to these Pretty Pitties.

  2. Thanks, Heather! That is about how Mia is. She will kiss you, and kiss you until you make her stop. I definitely agree that the bad reputations that pit bulls have are because of the bad owners and the bad ways in which they were raised.
