This weekly post will discuss the things that tend to anger me or interests me about the misconceptions that pit bulls have, this may include personal realizations, news stories, or just information about these misconceptions that the dogs have. The story of Kiah Pit bulls are said to be very aggressive dogs that should not be trusted and act on their own terms. These stereotypes are being destroyed by Kiah. Here is another blog that talks about Kiah . Below is a picture of Kiah who is the first official police dog in New York that is a pit bull. Pit-ture of the Day!

I came upon this shirt while I was scrolling across Facebook. There have recently been people who are taking action against the stereotypes that pitbulls have. Many people are making shirts that are rather funny. This shirt relates to the topic of pitbulls due to the fact that people seem to possess the same fear towards pitbulls that they have towards sharks, yet the reasoning behind their fear for sharks is rational, while the fear that they possess towards all dogs of this specific breed is based on cases that are not very common. If a dog is raised well and treated well then they will act well (for the most part).  The American Kennel Club or AKC agrees with this in an article about the recent breed ban "[lets put] responsibility for dangerous dogs where it really  belongs—on irresponsible owners regardless of breed." they also state that  there is no evidence to support the notion that some breeds of dogs are more inherently dangerous than others.
